SENIOR RESEARCH ASSOCIATE

Lexent Bio seeks a highly motivated Senior Research Associate with extensive skills in the application and development of genomic methods. We are a startup looking for energetic, creative individuals dedicated to growing the product pipeline. The successful candidate will join a team dedicated to the development of novel approaches for sequencing nucleic acids from patient blood and tissue samples. These methods will be employed to answer specific clinical questions, changing the way cancer treatment happens.   

Responsibilities:

  • Design, optimize, and develop novel genomic molecular assays

  • Research and characterize new technologies for application to cancer diagnostics

  • Recognize problems and troubleshoot assays

  • Analyze experimental data with statistical methodology

  • Perform duties as assigned as a part of a dynamic, quickly evolving team

  • Communicate results and recommendations to the scientific team

 

Requirements:

  • A Masters degree with 2+ years of experience, or Bachelors degree with 6+ years of experience (Genetics, Genomics, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or related discipline)

  • Extensive experience with DNA or RNA based molecular assays

  • Previous NGS and qPCR experience is desired

  • Research background in DNA methylation, exosome, or RNA biology a plus

  • Excellent experimental design and trouble-shooting abilities

  • Commercial assay development experience preferred

  • Ability to critically analyze, interpret, and present scientific data using industry standard software

  • Successful track record of self-directed work in both individual and team environments
